Out & About with the Armory


The Armory is delighted to partner with the Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County. Three, six, and twelve-hour workshops, held in specially designated areas of the Mounts, from September through December will be offered in ceramics, painting/mixed media, sculpture, and jewelry. Students will explore their artistic expression and specific techniques while focusing on gardens and horticulture.

Botanical Jewelry

Material fee: $20 per student

To create beautiful jewelry, we will develop forms using oval and circular disc cutters, jewelry saws, and drills. Surfaces will be embellishment through hammer textures, salt-water  etching, and patinas. Register.

PRINTMAKING

Cyanotype: The Original Blue Print Photographs

Cyanotypes, also known as sun prints or  blueprints, are an early form traditional photography. Originally invent- ed so architects could reproduce notes and diagrams such as blueprints, cyanotypes are a  fun and easy way  to capture designs created by everyday objects especially those from nature, leaving a rich blue and white image. Register

MIXED MEDIA

Place Books with Botanicals

This workshop will present a creative approach to the book form. We will explore painting and printing and then we’ll turn the artwork into pages of embellished artists’ books. Register
