SENIOR STUDIO MANAGER - SCULPTURE DIRECTOR

Part-time position with studio

Position: Nationally recognized art center in southeast Florida is seeking a person to lead our well- equipped sculpture department. Incumbent will provide artistic leadership and administrative structure to the faculty and students of the department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach a minimum of 3 hours a week, day or evening classes
  • Working with the Director of Education and Exhibitions, actively pursue, recruit, and engage instructors and develop a sustainable curriculum for the department 
  • Ensure classes are running at an optimal level
  • Be available for individual student guidance, mentoring, and critique
  • Ensure all studios, materials, and equipment required are available and functioning
  • Ensure all studios and workshops are clean and well maintained at all times
  • Available to assist in any exhibition where the Sculpture Department is represented
  • Actively pursue exhibition opportunities for interested students to increase their artistic experience
  • Develop personal professional stature by actively exhibiting work and presenting at other visual arts education venues
  • Foundry experience a plus

JEWELRY AND METALSMITH FACULTY POSITIONS

Positions:  Three part time adjunct faculty positions are currently available at The Armory Art Center of West Palm Beach, FL to provide part time instruction in adult jewelry and metalsmithing courses.   Course content could include enameling, advanced beading and wiring, advanced fabrication, and stone setting.
Requirements: Previous experience teaching jewelry in an adult setting; demonstrated skill level; ability to develop an 8-week course curriculum. Work schedule is typically one three-hour class once or twice per week and may be scheduled Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.   Compensation will be determined by number of enrolled students per class.
