The Armory Art Center invites you to consider our artful facility to host your events. Located in a historic Art Deco building, the Armory Art Center provides an artistic environment for your events. The Armory Art Center is home to 3 galleries, sculpture gardens, a kitchen, an outdoor courtyard, and plentiful parking. We welcome individuals, corporations, and non-profit groups to use our facility for unique weddings, parties, meetings, conferences, lectures, and screenings. Rental Terms and Conditions
Availability & Policies

The Armory Art Center (the Center) facilities are available Monday through Friday to groups, organizations, and businesses when it does not conflict with the scheduling and mission of the Center. The Center is closed on Sundays and rentals are not available. Because of the character of the Center as an educational and cultural institution, the need for protection of the objects displayed in the building, and the building itself, the Center reserves the right to refuse to make its facilities available to any prospective customer. Please note that due to our restoration project, rental requests are being considered on a case by case basis and ability is limited. Use of the Center is restricted to hours that do not conflict with the day-to-day operation of the Center and during times when the Center’s maintenance/security staff is on-premises. Your party will be charged for any artwork that is damaged during your rental. All tables and chairs must be at least five feet away from the walls to protect the artwork. The facility must be returned in the condition it was provided. Should the Center need additional cleaning or repair, the undersigned will be billed for the time it takes to remedy the situation at $50/hour for Armory staff or $100/hour if outside contractors are required.

Event Scheduling

In order to facilitate scheduling and use of the Center, please complete the attached Facility Rental Request Application in its entirety. The application will be reviewed to determine if the facility is available for the requested usage on the requested date(s). Once approved, a Facility Rental Agreement will be drafted and forwarded to the Renter for proper signature. The completed and signed Rental Agreement must be returned within 10 business days of receipt of the agreement along with the required 50% deposit.

Payments and Deposits

The 50% deposit required at booking is refundable up to 2 weeks prior to the event. A $250 security deposit is also required, refundable within 15 business days after the event. Final balance of the facility rental fee is due 1week prior to the event. Rates do not include sales tax.

Access

Events cannot begin earlier than 9:00 am or end later than 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The building must be vacated no later than 10:00 pm with tear down/clean-up completed by 10:00 pm. Any additional time requested beyond 6 (six hours) for event set-up, hosting, and event tear-down will be charged at a per-hour rate. Set up and take down is part of your negotiated rate.

Catering

Catering negotiations and costs are the sole responsibility of the Renter. All catering arrangements must be approved by the Armory Art Center. A site visit with the Center’s event staff is required prior to the event to discuss the logistics of the event. No propane or butane-powered equipment is permitted in the Center for any event. An open flame of any kind is prohibited. All catering equipment rental, décor, entertainment, and any other services provided by outside vendors will be contracted for and paid for by the Renter. The Armory Art Center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment or décor by outside vendors of the Renter.

Alcohol and Tobacco Policy

Alcohol can be served at the event through a licensed caterer. The sale of alcohol is not permitted on our property as we don’t hold a liquor license. The renter assumes all liability for serving and consumption of alcohol. State and local laws apply with regard to alcohol consumption. Smoking is not permitted on the property.

Decorations

The Center must approve all decoration plans for the facility rental space at least two weeks prior to the event. The Center reserves the right to prohibit any decoration considered inappropriate, damaging to the property, or a safety hazard. All equipment and décor, including but not limited to, plants, floral arrangements, lights, printed materials, gifts, signage, etc. must be removed at the conclusion of the event.

Publicity and Printed Materials

Invitation content and all other printed materials, including programs, posters, or public notices including press releases and advertising must be approved by the Armory Art Center’s Marketing Department prior to printing or distribution. The parties agree that no partnership between them regarding any event and use of the facility shall be implied in any way and Renter agrees to indemnify and hold the Armory Art Center harmless from any claims to the contrary.

Insurance Requirements

The Center requires that all businesses, organizations, and nonprofit groups using the facility for any event include the Center on their certificate of insurance from their insurance carrier for the hours of the event inclusive of set-up and breakdown. Upon completion of the contract, the Renter is responsible for providing a current valid Certificate of Insurance naming the Armory Art Center and its Board of Directors as Additional Insureds, with minimum liability limits in the amount of $1,000,000. Insurance may be required to cover any damage or accidents that occur during your event. This policy excludes those customers hosting individually sponsored events.
