Sound and Nature Are Explored In Exhibitions Opening At The Armory art center

West Palm Beach, FL. (December 29, 2009) -- Three Exhibitions will ring in the new year at The Armory Art Center and will run January 15- February 4, 2010. The Opening Reception for all three Exhibitions is January 15, 2010from 6-8pm.

Larry Leach Solo Exhibition:

A stunning display of the work of landscape painter, Larry Leach, who paints vast panoramas of closely observed nature. In his ability to fuse depiction with mark making, he creates paintings that are not only about visual events, but are visual events themselves. He brings together a specific sense of place with a universal evocation of light and space. He is a noted painter whose resume includes a solo exhibition at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.

Native to Florida:

A visual arts invitational celebrating efforts for the preservation of Florida's native species of flora and fauna will include works by JenniferPodis, Clifford Smith, JohnRachell, Kelly Lynn McKee, Dr. JohnBittinger Klomp, Walter Hnatysh, Mary Segal, Mark Messersmith, Robin Duke Rogers, Gary Borse, Andree Le Blanc, and Sonya Gaskell. Partial benefits from the exhibition fund the Busch Wildlife Refuge. Opening reception with the Artists present.

Crafted Melodies:

Collectors and artisans of handcrafted traditional and experimental musical instruments will loan beautifully crafted works from around the world for this exhibition. Stringed, percussive and wind instruments will be included. A special performance by instrumental guitarist Jon Fernans will be featured at the opening reception.


Opening Reception Admission: Free for Members, $5 for Non-Members

The Armory art center gallerys are FREEand open to the public (suggested donation), during regular gallery hours Monday-Friday 10am-4 pm, Saturday 10am-2pm
