Armory Art Center Announces New Grants & Foundations Coordinator
(West Palm Beach, Fla.) - The Armory Art Center is pleased to announce Laura MacDermeid as grants and foundation coordinator, according to Therese Shehan, executive director for the Armory Art Center. MacDermeid brings more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit field, most recently as the planner for the Area Agency on Aging. She has experience as a program director, grant writer, grant reviewer and funder.
At the Armory MacDermeid will be responsible for researching opportunities for funding from private foundations and governmental entities at local, state, and national levels. She will also develop grant contracts, provide all reporting and background information as required by grant contracts and serve as the Armory’s liaison to funders.
"We are excited to have Laura as part of our team," said Shehan. "Her previous experience and professionalism will be an asset to the Armory Art Center."
MacDermeid, originally from Brooklyn, NY, is now a Jupiter resident. As a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, she has also completed graduate courses at Hunter College in New York and the Grantsmanship Institute in California. MacDermeid is a member of the American Association of Grant Professionals and volunteers at the Animal Rescue Force and Peggy Adams Rescue League.
The Armory Art Center is a not-for-profit community-based visual arts center providing opportunities for individual growth, self-expression, increased awareness and appreciation of the arts through participation in studio, exhibition, lecture and other educational programs.
