The Armory Art Center Unveils “Armory Watch For Excellence (AWE)” Program

West Palm Beach, FL. (October 12, 2009) --  The Armory Art Center announced its new program Friday, Oct.9 2009. The Armory Watch for Excellence (AWE) is a program for artists that encourages growth in technical skills, concept and aesthetic while perfecting a new body of work for exhibition.

The Armory's Curator, Ann Fay Rushforth, in concert with supporting art experts, will mentor invited artists over a period of several months to two years which will include studio visits with the intention of encouraging growth and excellence in the
artist's chosen media. The result of this mentoring program will be the exhibition of works in the Armory galleries thru group exhibitions and solo shows.

The Armory Art Center is pleased to welcome the following artists to its inaugural program:

Patricia Zalisco, Mixed Media; Gladys Beltran,  Painting; Candy Childrey,   Photography; Marilyn Browde, Mixed Media; Elizabeth Reed,  Drawing /Mixed Media; Jane McIntire, Mixed Media; Vivian Wang, Sculpture; Kari O’Donnell, Painting; Sherry O’Neill, Sculpture; Dodi Sikowitz, Painting; Sonya Gaskell, Painting and John Gargano, Sculpture.

Currently on Exhibit at the Armory Art Center: Drink Up! – Ceramic Cup Invitational, Vanishing Florida and Women In The Visual Arts- “Artistic Visions: On, Over, Off the Edge of Our World”

Celebrating its 23rd season, the Armory Art Center provides opportunities for individual growth and self expression through participation in studio classes, exhibitions, lectures and other educational programs.
