INTERNSHIPS

 

 Unpaid internships for college students, recent graduates, and graduate students are available throughout the year on a full- or part-time basis. Opportunities may last two months or longer. Academic credit may be arranged for interns at their schools' discretion.

Applicants should follow the standard application procedure. Letters or essays should describe specific areas of interest within the Center, precise dates for the proposed internship, and number of hours per week the applicant is able to work. Applications should be made at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed starting date.

Marketing Intern Description

We are looking for part time interns who have recently graduated or are in their junior or senior year, interested in pursuing a career in marketing/public relations. Interns perform various administrative duties to support the marketing efforts of the Armory Art Center. Ideal candidates have previous office experience and knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Interest in art is a plus! Marketing interns are organized, professional, energetic, detail-oriented and possess strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. This is an unpaid position.

Responsibilities may include:

·         Sending information to various media

·         Tracking and documenting press

·         Maintaining electronic database of collateral material, ads, and articles

·         Updating company website and Facebook page

·         Participating in community events

·         Facilitating community marketing with distribution of marketing materials

·         Assisting in Armory fundraisers and special events

·         Organizing surveys

·         Assisting in graphic design

 

Gallery Services Intern Description

The Gallery Services internship is geared towards third and fourth year college students and graduate students, working on relevant degrees, who have a passion for the arts. It is a training program that provides hands-on experience in all aspects of gallery management. Interns work with gallery staff in art objects management, curating, education, exhibition design and preparation, customer service relations, event planning, volunteer services and general administration.

  • An essay or cover letter (maximum 500 words) describing your career goals, interest in performing arts work, and reasons for applying

After an initial review of the applications, a small number of students will be invited for an interview at the Center. Applicants will not be accepted without a personal interview. Interviews for volunteer positions are conducted throughout the year.
