| In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting while having fun! The basic elements and principles of art will be explored throughout each art lesson in order to develop each artist's knowledge in creating their own unique work of art. | Looking Around Us: Drawing from Observation | |||
| Students will create drawings and paintings from life. Examples include sketching a bowl of fruit (still life), drawing from a model (figurative) or drawing a street scene (landscape). | Start preparing for your 2013 Dreyfoos School of the Arts audition. Drawing skills will be polished with emphasis on drawing from the live (clothed) model and still-life. Learn to incorporate design concepts that will be evaluated during the audition process and build the confidence necessary before your “Big Day”. Emphasis will also be placed on the written essay, sculpture, and an artistic vocabulary. Timed practice sessions and real-time audition simulations will be given throughout the course.
