COLOR, LINES AND SHAPES!
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting while having fun! The basic elements and principles of art will be explored throughout each art lesson in order to develop each artist's knowledge in creating their own unique work of art. Looking Around Us: Drawing from Observation
Students will create drawings and paintings from life. Examples include sketching a bowl of fruit (still life), drawing from a model (figurative) or drawing a street scene (landscape). All from real life observation! Students will also be introduced to significant art history, art criticism and aesthetics. Let's find out how to "see" the hole in the donut! Class Details

Keeping a sketchbook is a great way to grow as a young artist. In this class students will learn various ways to use a sketchbook to record, experiment, and communicate artistic ideas. DREYFOOS PREP CLASS
Start preparing for your 2013 Dreyfoos School of the Arts audition. Drawing skills will be polished with emphasis on drawing from the live (clothed) model and still-life. Learn to incorporate design concepts that will be evaluated during the audition process and build the confidence necessary before your “Big Day”. Emphasis will also be placed on the written essay, sculpture, and an artistic vocabulary. DRAWING AND PAINTING THE NUDE FIGURE
Learn to draw or paint the nude figure in a structured studio environment. Individual attention will be given to each student to aid them in figure studies, essential in developing observational skills and critical for continuing to develop portfolio pieces.
