Photography Exhibition from Grassy Waters

The annual Grassy Waters photography contest is intended to showcase the natural environment in the West Palm Beach Preserve. Images should reflect the preserve's diversity including landscapes, wildlife, animal behavior, plant life, water, weather, and the seasons. The 2019 contest is sponsored by Grassy Waters Conservancy, and the City of West Palm Beach. For the first time, contest winners will have their work on view at the Armory Art Center to help support the Grassy Waters reserve and photographers in the West Palm Beach community.

Raymond Gehman to Judge the 2019 Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Photography Contest
We are happy to announce that Raymond Gehman, National Geographic and fine arts photographer and nature and fine arts photography teacher, will be back this year to judge the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Photography contest after missing last year while leading a photography workshop in India.
Raymond worked as a photographer for National Geographic Society for 25 years. During his tenure he was awarded 3 National Geographic Magazine covers, was published in 7 National Geographic magazines, and in numerous National Geographic books and pamphlets and issues of National Geographic Traveler. Raymond’s fine arts and nature photographs have been exhibited in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, VA, Houston, Texas, Washington, D.C., and at a number of locations in our area. His was the first slide in the presentation “National Geographic Inaugural Celebration” requested by President Barack Obama. He was invited to participate in “America 24,” the first all-digital documentation of America. He was one of three National Geographic photographers interviewed for and featured in “National Geographic’s Field Guide to Landscape Photography.”
