Shawn Hall's highly anticipated new project Species Act will open on Earth Day, 2016 and runs concurrently with her Recent Works exhibition. This installation will express the common themes and forms rooted in her ongoing exploration of nature.
Shawn Hall was born in Ann Arbor, MI and lives in New Orleans. She holds an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has participated in several artist residencies and her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Recent solo shows include the CAC and Ogden Museum in New Orleans, Red Arrow in Nashville and Galleri Urbane in Dallas. Her installation How To Build A Forest premiered 2011 at The Kitchen in NYC and has been on tour since. Her work has been reviewed nationally in Art Papers, New Art Examiner, Hyperallergic and Pelican Bomb. She has work in the permanent collections of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans and the Linklaters Corporate collection in NYC. www.shawnhall.org
