Lunch and Learn: Wayne Werner & Special Foredom Demonstration and Sales

Lunch and Learn

Wayne Werner will be delivering a lecture before the Foredom demonstration and sale on April 12, 2017. Armory students and the general public are invited to attend this new free and exciting opportunity. Lunch and Learn is held once a month from 12:45 - 1:30 PM in our library. Bring your lunch and an open mind to not only learn about art, but also get to know some of our fascinating guests—our veteran and new faculty members, artists-in-residence, and visiting master artists.

New students who attend a Lunch and Learn will receive 10% off any regularly scheduled 4 to 8-week class. For AAC new students only. Must attend a Lunch and Learn and then register for class by 9:30 AM the following morning. Sign in at Lunch and Learn required.

Wayne Werner is a third generation metal smith from Baltimore. He has learned from metal workers from Italy, Egypt, Java, and Bali. Specializing in cold forging precious metals, Werner has incorporated the traditional techniques of gold and platinum smithing with his artistic vision of paying homage to the fertility cults of the ancient world. Wayne has participated in over 250 high-end craft shows nationally and has received many awards for his work including the World Gold Council’s Gold Distinction award and the JMSA Vision award for Mokume Gane. Werner is a former instructor at the Fuji Studio in Florence, Italy, and is adjunct faculty at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Md, and has taught over 100 workshops at universities and craft schools around the country.
