Anton Pastuszak is a local artist who primarily focuses on the metal arts. He earned his BA in Communication from Lynn University where the self-taught welder was first recognized for his recycled metal sculptures. Soon after college he had the opportunity to make a commissioned piece for then President Bill Clinton. His desire to give back to the community led to 12 years of teaching middle and high school math alongside coaching track and field. However, his first love was welding, so he redirected his efforts to the metal crafts where he currently works as a lead ironworker and as a welding instructor at a trade school. He uses different materials and processes, from small nails to large scrap I-beams and TIG welding to acetylene torch — if it’s metal, it has the potential to become art.
