WEST PALM BEACH, FL, March 21, 2016. The exhibition of Recent Works by Shawn Hall, held at the Armory Art Center's East Gallery, will showcase 2D works by the New Orleans-based artist. Shawn's artwork is often a reflection of the natural world, reminding the viewer that the Earth is in constant change. Her paintings express a loose, often ironically humorous, abstract representational style. Despite her ventures into different mediums, her paintings inform all of her work. These paintings loop back and revisit the familiar territory of the forms and processes found in nature.
Shawn’s highly anticipated new installation project Species Act is running concurrently with the Recent Works exhibition. This installation will open at the Armory Art Center's Greenfield Gallery on Earth Day 2016. It will showcase Shawn's environmentally-inspired, multidisciplinary work using themes and forms rooted in her ongoing exploration of nature.
Shawn will give a free, one-hour lecture about her work on Wednesday, April 20th, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Armory Art Center Library.
